First Official Post!- My Locale and BB Facts!

I think I should start us off by introducing myself and how I came to this point- making a blog dedicated to BB and their American fans :) I am from Connecticut, I am 19 and currently a university student. My BIGBANG bias is Daesung, haha :D

So... I've personally always been into Asian music and cultures but not exactly k-pop itself. I came to know lots of Japanese artists and spent tons of time studying Japanese through middle school and into high school. At the time I was really into anime and what-not (being an art student and all) as well as the country's culture and history, which I am actually majoring in now (Asian History). My interest in k-pop started years ago too, I was listening to DBSK and SNSD from time to time, but nothing really drew me in too much... until last summer.

I stumbled upon Taeyang's "Wedding Dress" one day on YouTube, realizing I had never seen his name before and was incredibly intrigued at the very first shot of the MV. And, well, that was it. I was done for. Taeyang became a light in my life I never realized I was missing. LOL. I passed his music video around on Facebook, showed my sister and closest friends... I had no idea what I had been missing out on. I did some research on Tae and discovered the rest of the boys- which led to my brain pretty much imploding over the next few days. I started learning their lyrics and backgrounds, their personal stories and each member's personality traits. I can pretty much describe any one of them in perfect detail- from their hometown to their last hairstyle change.

Without sounding like a creeper (haha, I'm sure I already do, but thats okay) I want to explain that BIGBANG actually gave me something to care about. I was never too happy in school, it was just never anything so important to me. I got good grades because I wanted to get out as soon as possible. From them on I spread the fandom- my closest friends are huge fans now, my dad listens to BB from time to time, and anytime I call someone in my family, "Tonight" plays on their phones, which they all enjoy. Since my Taeyang discovery, I have fallen in love with every member- more than once. For a long time I was strictly a Tae bias, then a Daesung bias, a GD bias, back to Taeyang and finally back to Daesung for good. Seungri has a special place in my heart that never goes away, and while T.O.P is actually at the bottom of my list- appalling, I know- he too recieves much love haha, I wouldn't have life-size "Love Song" headshots of them all on my wall if they weren't loved.

Another thing BIGBANG really got me going on was learning the language. I know a lot of fans simply say they are learning the language and use things like "omo", "aigoo", and "oppa" all the time but never get farther than that so they always gain a lot of ridicule for it. While I do use things like that when having to do when I can't express my fangirling in English (it really just doesn't translate), I actually study Korean like I study French: vocabulary, grammar, etiquette, etc. I am still new but watching Korean programs and listening to Korean music really helps. I know tons more than I thought- I can watch a drama and understand half of what they say most times. :P

Hey Everybody~


I'm hoping this blog site can become a big hit amongst U.S. fans of the Korean group BIGBANG!! I also hope that this will help us all become close as a fan base, since there seems to be a lot of us out there on other fansites.

While I am an avid member of several of the international fansites dedicated to our boys, I would like a place where we American VIPs can come together and talk about how/where we heard of the amazingness that is BIGBANG, as well as work together to benefit ourselves and BIGBANG too!

With best wishes for a great start, I am really praying that there are a lot of fans out there looking for a U.S. dedicated fansite too! If there are any comments, opinions, insights or anything like that, please feel free to contact me through this blog. :D
